COPPER CANYON PRESS : Port Townsend, WA

Ashley brings a musician’s ear to copywriting and editing.
— Victoria Poling, Annual Fund Director/Intern Coordinator at Copper Canyon Press

I kicked off 2016 by moving cross-country. Copper Canyon Press is a nonprofit poetry publishing press that's been churning out some of the finest poetry books since the '70s. As an intern, I worked on several projects, including the 2017 NEA grant, GiveBig 2016 campaign, and their latest Kickstarter, The New Poets Project. I helped write, edit, and design weekly poetry emails sent to 2,000+ poetry donors and readers.

I also crafted social media posts for the Press's Facebook and Twitter pages. I traveled to Seattle and represented the Press at multiple events, including APRIL Book Expo @ Hugo House and Then Come Back: The Lost Neruda Poems book launch @ Seattle Arts & Lectures.
