I had a blast last weekend in Tallahassee, FL. I love how Gaines Street Fest has brought together Tallahassee's art community and this year was no exception. I heard beautiful work from equally beautiful people and felt so much love from everyone who stuck it out 'til midnight to hear me read.
Super stoked to announce my poem “Vice” has been accepted in Contraposition Magazine and is forthcoming in their next print issue. Seeing my name in print for the first time with The Lost Country was surreal... Don’t think I’ll be getting used to that anytime soon.
I’m slowly hearing back from some of the 14 small presses/magazines I applied for. Looks like I may be working remote with a poetry magazine and moving wherever another internship opportunity comes up. Hoping to get all the experience and guidance I can get, so I’ll take on as many internships as I can manage. Now I just gotta keep it together for the rest of November. December is about making moves.
This Saturday, November 14, is the second annual Jax by Jax literary festival. I’ll be haunting King and Park Street throughout the day and night, so come say hey if you’re in the Downtown/Riverside Jacksonville area. Always support local art when you can.
